Wedding Color Palette

I hope you guys had a great weekend!
I have a ton of emails from readers, asking me to help them with their Navy, Yellow and affordable bridesmaid dresses  We tackled this a few months ago, but I thought I should give it another go since I still absolutely love this palette…
Yellow Journal by Thuss Farrell, Yellow Florals by Botanica, fuchsia bridesmaid dresses by Vera Wang on Bluefly , Invitation by Ceci New York, Yellow Favors by Rebecca Thuss
I love the versatility of a Navy, White and Yellow Palette…from a chic beach wedding to a sophisticated ballroom affair, this palette can be adjusted to fit just about any type of wedding. All while keeping an understated elegant vibe.
With that said, there are some newer palettes that are really becoming mainstays…try swapping the navy with a gorgeous grey. The effect is oh-so-chic. Check back later to see what I come up with for this palette! Oh, and we will be announcing the winner of the Abby Jean Contest later this afternoon!
PS – Thanks so much Typepad for featuring Style Me Pretty today!

Backyard Wedding by Skye Blu Photography + Elysium Productions

Vintage garden weddings are the ultimate in romance. They’re always dreamy, filled to the tippy-top with that fresh-picked floral look and usually end with eating and dancing by moonlight. ?We can’t think of one thing wrong with that list.?Skye Blu Photography?captured every beautiful moment of this Ocean meets garden fête and let just say that vintage affordable bridesmaid dresses and dog lovers are going to go CRAZY pants over this number. All you wedding lovers will too. It’s THAT good. See it all here.

And as dreamy and elegent and all around swoon-worthy as this wedding is, just wait until you see the film by?Elysium Productions. It is sending this shindig right to the top of our favorites fuchsia bridesmaid dresses.
From the bride… I’ve always loved vintage garden settings, flowers, and antique keys. My favorite books growing up were The Secret Garden & Anne of Green Gables. My parents have a beautiful large antique hutch that uses those types of vintage keys. We wanted a small family wedding and a fun party with our close friends to celebrate. Dear friends of the Sims family, the Hogan’s, were so gracious to open their home for us to celebrate our wedding ceremony and party with friends. It is a beautiful home on the bayfront on the Balboa Peninsula. It could not have been more perfect and special. We had the dinner a couple blocks away at the Sims House, which is so meaningful. Scott grew up there … and was a perfect intimate setting for our families.
Of course we had to have our sweet Riley, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever, looking very handsome in his bow tie & cuffs. We did put a lot of work into the homemade projects. Very fun though! My mom, Laura, and I made the jeweled gray felt napkin holders, the place cards, the dessert to-go boxes, the coffee cups, etc. I transferred about 90 photographs into black & white in all different shapes & sizes and found silver frames to fit, some matte, some shiny, some blingy… They were of Scott growing up, me growing up, our families, and us together. Our house looked like a wedding craft store for 3 months!

Utah Wedding At Conrad Ranch

We are going to bid adieu to you and you and you but not without one last skip down pretty lane courtesy of?Allison Cox Photography. This sweetheart wedding dresses?Conrad Ranch wedding is like a breath of fresh Utah air and we can almost smell the gorgeous countryside that played host for the day. Add to that the plethora of images waiting for you in the gallery and we have ourselves an all out love fest. Until tomorrow lovelies!

From the Bride…?Our wedding day was perfect. We wanted it to be no-pressure, no standing in a receiving line, exactly the way we wanted it. We opted for a garden party at Conrad Ranch in Utah. We wanted cinderella wedding dresses to be rustic and natural but also chic and personal.
Being on a budget, we decided to do all of it ourselves. We thrifted for unique things to put on the tables. Old vases, bowls, china, tea-pots, clocks, books, etc. My sister sewed a hundred grey lace napkin rings to go around the napkins on each plate. A family friend brought her jazz band to perform in the gazebo, which we decorated with lights and hanging glass orbs filled with fresh flowers.
My dress was from Ann Taylor, which we bought on sale, and a family friend added sleeves to it to make it different. My sister is into book-binding and created a beautiful wedding book for guests to sign as they came in. We decided that with the beautiful natural mountain backdrop surrounding us, we could use minimal decorations. The mountains were our decorations.
The party was so simple and so personal that we were able to talk with all of our guests. The main aspect of our vision was being surrounded on the most important day with the people who love us most.

Cinco de Mayo Photo Shoot by Jubilee Events + Carla Ten Eyck

Bust out the Skinny Girl Margaritas loves because today is a Cinco de Mayo celebration and to help us get into the mood for a fiesta is this gorgeous shoot photographed by?Carla Ten Eyck. She teamed up with yellow bridesmaid dresses?Jubilee Events to craft a colorful affair perfect for this most festive of days. Sparklers, loads of pink and a rainbow of heels..can you say Viva Cinco de Mayo? Grab a gander at more of this pretty party in the gallery.

From Jubilee Events…?This was a great photo shoot that derived from a more personal stance than most shoots. This was such a fun, personal photoshoot that was rich with color and details– allowing us to express our fun side. Cinco de Mayo is a holiday full of life and energy—an element we wanted to portray. We coupled it with another tradition, Day of the Dead, and honed in on the spirit of this culture.
Our models, Alicia and Carlos were a great addition to our team for the day—hats off to those shoes that Alicia brought and, of course, the dress, expertly chosen by The White Dress by the shore! ?Tony constructed a bouquet and arrangement that, as always, was a beautiful beach wedding dresses and bursting with color! Your eyes can get lost for hours looking at all of the trinkets and pieces we included—each one with a different meaning and purpose behind it.
Our good friend and photographer, Carla Ten Eyck brought in several artifacts from her family’s history, like sugar skulls, masks, colorful lanterns and flags as a nod to the Dia de los Muertos altar, or Day of the Dead, meant to celebrate and remember lost loved ones. Both Carla and Tony Palmieri from Datura – A Modern Garden, brought special notes to include their mothers, quite easily making this shoot even more meaningful to our hearts.

Georgia Wedding by The Reason Photography

It is official. It’s Friday, the weekend is almost here and we are neck deep behind the scenes in tons of wedding eye candy to share. That is cinderella wedding dresses for celebration don’t you think? So lets kick off a merry ending to the week with this sweet Georgia wedding that combines a touch of whimsy with a sprinkle of modern and some lemony zest for good measure. Yellow makes everything better in our opinion, especially when it is captured so beautifully by?The Reason Photography. See more of this citrus hued soiree in the gallery.

From the start, Marc and I wanted a wedding that truly felt like us- fun, exciting, eclectic and a little different from the norm. Every little detail had a meaning behind it, making the day all the more special for both of us. We fell in love with the sweetheart wedding dresses. We loved the big backyard, the rustic, vintage feel of the decor and?the brick wall backdrop where we’d say our vows- mostly, we loved how it felt like home. We wanted our guests to feel completely at ease to let loose and dance like crazy.?The planning process was really a joint project. Marc was involved from day one- he built the wishing tree for our guests to sign when they first arrived at the wedding and handpicked the groomsmen’s outfits. Yellow has always been my favorite color and little bursts of it could be seen throughout the wedding. I wanted my bouquet to be unique and different- I fell in love with the billyballs in it and we used them throughout the ceremony and reception in the decor. My sister and I scoured Etsy.com for DIY ideas and we made the frame for the seating arrangement and the heart canvas that housed Marc and my engagement photos. We wanted each detail to have a twist on the traditional.
The ceremony was so special to both of us. We used our favorite songs for the processionals, exchanged five things we vowed to do for one another, and listened to our closest friends read lyrics from a cherished song and an inspirational book (Oh the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss). We laughed the entire time and so did our guests. One of our readers actually fell out of her shoe as she walked to the microphone! It was perfect. The reception was an absolute blast and I think Marc and my personalities really resonated through. We used white tree branches with yellow flowers and candles hanging from them instead of traditional centerpieces. Marc competes in several triathlons throughout the year, so we used bikes in many of the details. My shoes and the bridesmaid’s shoes were from Vince Camuto, where one of the bridesmaids works in New York and I wore my mom’s wedding ring around my neck. The candles on the table came from a candle store I worked in during high school and we drank my dad’s favorite beer, Corona, from an Ole Miss tin to remember him and both our alma mater. Every detail had a story behind it and I was so happy with the way it turned out.

Beach wedding dress required for wedding on the beach

It doesn’t get more classically chic than this wedding designed by Sterling Social! I feel fancy just looking at all the elegant yellow bridesmaid dresses from Michael & Anna Costa Photographers Ltd. Chandeliers, Jimmy Choos, calligraphy-laden invitations, luxurious-lounge areas, and a Rolls Royce or two – it’s a chic as they come.? Top it all off with an appearance by the USC Marching Band, and ladies and gentlemen – we have a stunner on our hands! You can see even more chic in the full gallery of blue bridesmaid dresses!

From Michael & Anna Costa Photographers Ltd.…Betsy & Stenn’s wedding was the perfect combination of high-class traditional with a flair for fun. Although they served their guest appetizers that consisted of oysters and a raw bar, they ended the night with Betsy’s favorite meal – burgers! The day began with a traditional ceremony at their church in Montecito followed by a fun-filled night of being entertained by the USC Marching Band, rocking out to their AMAZING live band and ending the night by lighting it with a sparkler exit. Betsy & Stenn’s details consisted of such things as a classic car, traditional Santa Barbara Red Trolley, Cabana’s with lounge chairs and surrounding tree’s lighting the night with votive candles hanging from the branches. Their perfect day was just that, perfect.
